Lemonade Day – May 20, 2017

May 20

Bloomington Boys and Girls Club - Lemonade Day

Lemonade Day Bloomington is Empowering Today’s Youth to Become Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs.

LEMONADE DAY is May 20, 2017 ALL DAY!

(wear yellow to show your support)

Lemonade Day is a fun, FREE, hands-on program teaching youth how to start, own, and operate a business – a lemonade stand!

Lemonade Day teaches 14 lessons in entrepreneurship, including

• creating budgets
• setting profit-making goals
• estimating inventory needs and sales
• marketing and advertising
• customer service
• repaying investors
• saving
• giving back to your community
• ….and much more!

The Lemonade Day Program helps kids solve problems and gain self-esteem for future successes. The young entrepreneurs keep all the money they make, and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some.

Parents and other youth leaders act as mentors for participating youth, in most cases.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington offers the program at NO COST for all kids at any age who would like to participate, thanks to generous local sponsors. Participants receive a FREE young entrepreneur workbook, mentor guide for parents or adult role models, Lemonade Day t-shirt, official Lemonade Stand Permit from the City of Bloomington, and access to attend our FREE hands-on workshop where kids and their adult mentors rotate through interactive stations to learn how to be successful on Lemonade Day.

On May 20th, kids all over Monroe County who are participating in the program will set up their lemonade stands, and the community is encouraged to go out and support the young entrepreneurs.  Wear yellow!
